When Aziraphale says he obtained his license 90 years ago and then ‘they didn’t even require tests, but I insisted!’ was that extra line added in after you looked it up and realised that he couldn’t actually have passed his test 90 years ago?
Or do you have an uber doober specific knowledge on the history of vehicle licensing?
The first driving tests in the UK were voluntary. (That was a John Finnemore line, but I knew that because my grandfather Harry had bragged about getting a driving license in 1935 before it was compulsory.)
